ANNUAL REPORT, 1868
The following appeared in the parish magazine
for March 1869:
Committee | |
The Rev . R. Miles Rev N. Keymer Mr John Brown Mr E. Hutchinson Mr Pacey |
Mr Orton Mr Hall Mr Oakes Mr Brice Mr F. Hemstock |
Ladies Committee | |
Mrs Miles Mrs Willesford Master: Mr R. Lindsay Sewing Mistress: Miss Jane Brown |
Mrs Forster Mrs Hall Infant Mistress: Mrs Hoe Monitor: Fred. Coy |
In publishing the Annual Report of the Schools, the Committee have much pleasure in being able to give a very satisfactory account of progress. There has been a change of Masters during the year, which naturally unsettled the work for a time, but the School is now working well under Mr Lindsay, and the Report of the Government Inspector is on the whole very satisfactory.
There is still however a lamentable deficiency in the Funds; the Balance due to the Treasurer having considerably increased during the past year*. While thanking those who have contributed to the Fund of the School, the Committee would earnestly invite all who are favourable to education, to give these Schools their hearty support.
The time of Inspection having been changed from March to January, the Accounts now put before you, date from March to December 31st, 1868.
