Genealogy Charts
As an aid to producing the biographical details for the data base, we constructed family history charts for the period up to 1900. This was largely done from census returns. Additional information was collected from a web site with listings of Bingham Marriages from 1598 to 1812, produced as part of his family history research by Guy Etchells (http://freespace.virgin.net/guy.etchells/Bnprindex.htm). We have plans to research Bingham Parish Records (done a long time ago by the Bingham Local History Society but now lost).
Information also came from the LHS work relating the 1841 tithe map and census return, which enabled us to infer the location of some families. The house histories found elsewhere on this site also provided snippets of interesting information. Trade directories provided extra evidence for the periods between censuses.
The charts indicate known relationships by a continuous line and inferred relationships with a broken line. Colour is used on some to distinguish between branches of the same family or different families. Red numbers indicate a gravestone location, blue text refers to occupations and place of residence from censuses etc and green text is non occupational information.
The family history charts are of intrinsic interest and so we decided to preserve them on the web site! Each family occupies a page which can be found by clicking on the appropriate name below. Note one or two families spread over two pages, and some pages contain families with the same name but who are not necessarily related.
