22481 Pte. Thomas Spurr 11th Reserve Cavalry Regiment B 1885
Service records Enlisted 5th September 1914 at Melton Mowbray.
He said he had resided for three years at 2 Cottesmore Avenue, Melton Mowbray

He was medically examined on 5th September.
He was 5’ 4½”, weighed 154 lbs with a girth of 38½” (expansion 1½”). He had brown hair and grey eyes with a fresh complexion.
The medical examination on joining certified him fit for service
His next of kin were named as:
Father: Henry, Fairfield Street, Bingham
Brother: George, 9 Gas Street, Sandiacre
Sister: Emily Holmes, Needham Street, Bingham [married Bingham 1909 to John Holmes, railway porter]
 
  His trade was give as “Rough Rider”.

On 19th December 1914 he was examined again and pronounced unfit to serve.
He was discharged under King’s Regulation para 392.
He was awarded a gratuity of £1. 10s
 
Roll of Honour Probably because of his very short period of service Thomas does not actually appear on the Roll of Honour or the AVL.
