Attested at Lincoln on 11th June 1903. Occupation: Farm Servant. Height 5’ 4¼”; weight 115½ lbs; girth 34” (expansion 3”). Blue eyes. Red hair. Posted to Lincoln Depot11.6.04 and to 2nd Battalion on 12.9.04. On 14th February 1905 he was awarded 10 days (cells?). On 21st February 1905 he was discharged for Misconduct. He managed 256 days in the army. His next of kin were recorded as Jesse Moncaster, of Apley, nr Wragby Lincs and his brothers William and John. |

Place of birth: Louth. DoB 1 January 1888. Joined 28 March 1906 for 5-7 years. Height 5’4?”, girth 36¼”, blue eyes, auburn hair. Several tattoos Discharge SNLR (services no longer required) as not recommended for RFR (Royal Feet Reserve). Despite character references usually being VG he was in the cells for 8 days in July 1910. Offence not specified. Postings: Stoker 2nd class until June 1908 then Stoker 1st class.

as Louth. Answered “no” to question “have you ever served in the Royal Navy, Army” etc. Trade: Labourer. Address: School Lane, Bingham. Height 5’ 5?”; weight 137 lbs; Girth 37” (expansion 2”); Blue eyes, brown hair. Posted to Pioneers 21/11/14. Served on Home Front 10/11/14 to 29/6/15. Discharged 29/6/15 as being no longer physically fit for war service. On his discharge form he gave address as School Lane but did not name any relatives. |
