Enlisted in the Army 23rd October 1914 and served until he joined the RFC on 25th March 1918. He entered the RAF on 1st April 1918, the inaugural date of the RAF. He qualified as a wireless operator.
His medal card shows service in the South Nottinghamshire Hussars (service number 14449), Royal Flying Corps (408809) and Corps of Hussars (281973). It records he was sent to the Middle East Theatre on 12th April 1915.He received Victory, British and Star medals.

Roll of Honour Roll of Honour shows he was wounded once (see RAF service record), according to his service record this was in Egypt on 23rd March 1918. The Roll also indicates service at Gallipoli.
Absent voters list 1918 Shows Alban Cuddy with the address Long Acre and service number 408809. His RAF details were: Air Mech 3 RAF.

Norah and Albert had son Albert, b 1915, d 1988. Husband Albert was killed in WW1 in March 1918.

Sydney died in WW1



Thomas served in the Royal Field Artillery in WW1

  James Cuddy is probably an example of the groups of itinerant Irish farm labourers who came for the harvests during much of the 19th century.
