The medal card notes that he entered France on 27th December 1914; six weeks later he was dead.
He was the first and youngest person from Bingham to be killed in WW1. Regimental records show that he enlisted on 25th November 1913 and was killed on 6th February 1915 near Richebourg which lies between Bethune and Armentieres in the Pas de Calais. The battalion war diary records that on Feb 6h 1915 a First Aid post was shelled - some 20 shells in all - and two men were killed – one was Frank Harris
Parish Magazine March 1915 In the March 1915 All Saints’ Magazine, the Rector – The Rector Rev. Hutt- included a paragraph on Bingham’s Roll Of Honour.  In it he states that “I very much fear that it is only too true that Frank Harris has been killed in the trenches, although up to the moment of writing no official news of his death has been received from the War Office.  Poor lad!  It was but his second turn in the trenches.  Whilst it is all very sad, it must be a comfort to his parents and friends to know that he died doing the best any man can do – his duty, fighting for his King and Country.
